Agenda ★★★★☆ ($.99 / App Store) for the iPhone and iPad is a minimal and gesture heavy calendar app. Connected to the iOS’s built in calendar, Agenda is stripped of all unnecessary elements without losing functionality. The end result is a beautiful and highly accessible calendar with a very intuitive gesturing system maximize speed. Similar to Calvetica, this app focuses on minimalistic design, clean simplicity and ease of use with great results. If the built in calendar app is not good enough for you, Agenda is definitely one of the best ones in the App Store.
Air Projector ★★★☆☆ ($2.99 / App Store) for the iPhone and iPod touch “projects” PDF documents and photos wirelessly to any computer with a web browser that are connected on the same local network. So while its not technically an actual projector, it cleverly does a similar job. Setup is easy as all you need to do is open the app and on the receiving computer browser, type in the URL (like a website address) and now whatever is on your iPhone screen within the app will be shared in real time. While its limited to PDF’s and photos, it could be perfect for business presentations or simply to view photos on the big screen.
MobiUs ★★☆☆☆ ($.free / App Store) for the iPhone and iPad is the “world’s first” HTML5 specific web browser. For those who do not know about HTML5, this will be the new coding standard for websites which offers significantly more options and features online. The developers called this app the “the next generation of mobile browsing”, which it is in some ways but there are two major issues stopping it from being just another web browser (although a big update could fix it). First the user interface as well as the supposed full screen browsing is just not really well implemented and looks dated. The second and immediately visible problem is that it doesn’t support the retina display making it look like last generation, not the next.
Calvetica ★★★★☆ ($2.99 / App Store) for the iPhone is minimalist and super fast calendar app. While iOS comes with a decent calendar program, Calvetica blows it away in every possible way. Its super fast, easy to use, intuitive beautiful and syncs with the iPhone’s built in calendar. This is one of those great apps that should have came with the iPhone as a stock app program.
LogMeIn Ignition ★★★★★ ($29.99 / App Store) for the iPhone and iPad is an app that lets you fully control, access and view any remote PC or Mac computer as if you were sitting there using them in real time. Sounds like science fiction or too good to be true. But it works amazingly well over Wi-Fi and even 3G data speeds. The way the user interface is created makes taking control over what is usually a 13 inch or larger screen on a 3.5 inch screen somehow efficient and painless. A must buy iOS app for anyone that needs to control their home or office computer on demand.
Paperless: Lists + Checklists ★★★☆☆ ($.99 / App Store) by Crush Apps for the iPhone (iPad compatible) is a perhaps the fastest and pleasant to use checklist app available. Simply great app for making lists of anything and everything. Use it to create to do lists, make grocery lists, take notes, write an outline of a story, prepare notes for a presentation, make a list of gift ideas, plan a vacation… or anything else you’d want to make a list for.
