Sort of like Google Street View but sort of not. The world wide photos available in this app is from people like you and me, anyone with a Flicker account with properly tagged photos will pop up in specified locations. Its a truly unique and fun way to see photos (from ordinary to professional photographers) in just about any part of the world. The only issue is the somewhat frequent crashing with heavy use, but the app is good enough to warrant a purchase.
SAS Survival Guide ★★★★☆ ($5.99 / App Store - iPad version) for the iOS is a definitive manual to survive in almost any condition in any part of the world. This is actually from the best selling book written by John Wiseman but with enhancements only iOS can bring such as video survival tips, morse code signaling feature, sun compass, ability to search for specific things in the book and much more. This is a seriously useful survival guide with the added benefit of being a weightless app with no internet connection required to use.
